- Calm abiding - meditation weekend online course
Shamatha means ‘calm abiding.’
Join Susan for this weekend online Shamatha concentration course. Two days to review and to deepen your calm abiding practice.
The Saturday and Sunday program will be an opportunity to do some in-depth practice in the shamatha field. We will use different concentration objects and cover specific strategies for calming the mind and bringing the mind to equanimity.
Because the shamatha practice can always be deepened, this weekend will be suitable for all levels of practice – beginner to advanced.
Susan is fresh back from retreat in the Himalayas, India. There she attended a 10 day immersive shamatha practice and is freshly inspired to share this path with others.

What will we be covering
The intention of this weekend meditation course is to spend some time quietening the mind and deepening your understanding of the shamatha practice. Shamatha translates as ‘calm abiding.’ It is the training of attention that cultivates a steady and ease-ful mind.
The sessions will have a combination of discussion around the strategies we need to develop, with the main focus being on the practice time. So over the 2 days participants will get significant time on the cushion to give their concentration practice a fresh awakening.
We will discuss strategies to modulate energy levels (either restlessness or lethargy) as well as highlight the necessity for ease and relaxation in the practice.
If you are currently doing a daily practice or if you would like some motivation to get back into a regular practice, then you will find this weekend inspiring and energising.
A weekend immersion in your practice to inspire and bring ease to your year end.
